Welcome One and All ! ! ! !
The Cross Cultural Mission and Ministry Unit and Committee recognise the importance of the Second Generation young people in our Ethnic-specific Congregations and Faith Communities. We are committed to your growth and wellbeing. We are aware that there are issues peculiar to you and we want to provide a space where those issues can be heard and explored.
The theme for the Camp is ‘Creating Space to Wait, Listen, Trust: Hope Comes’. It’s a combination of the theme of the Cross-cultural Mission and Ministry Unit (The Call to Create Space) and the theme for the 2013 Synod (Wait, Listen, Trust: Hope Comes).
Our Keynote Speaker is Rev. Bruce Reyes Chow, native of Northern California and 3rd generation Chinese/Filipino. Bruce has lived in San Francisco since 1988. An ordained minister since 1995, from 2000 – 2011 he was the founding pastor of Mission Bay Community Church and in 2008 he was elected the Moderator of the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He now earns his keep as a writer, speaker and consultant.
We have an exciting program plan for you. Come and join other Second Generation Young People from all races, cultures and ethnicities. The Camp space is for us to wait, listen and trust that hope comes.
