“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” Martin Luther King. Jr.
He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8
Do you ask the question that Prophet Micah asked? What does the Lord require of me?
If I am to be faithful, what does God really want from me? From you? I suspect each of us will answer the question differently. Micah’s land, Judah, was about to drop into the garbage disposal of history. From the outside the mighty, savage armies of Assyria were coming (Micah 1:2). Inside the land, Micah saw the chaos.
Micah’s question is relevant for us today. “With what shall I come before the Lord?” What does God want from us?
At the NextGen Camp we will explore together the question: “What does the Lord require?”
